Selena Marie Gomez (/s@/li:n@Gomez/s@-LEE-n@/GOH-mez on July 22, 1992) was an American singer, actress and producer. Gomez's acting career started in the television show for children called Barney & Friends (1902-2004). When she was a teenager, she rose to prominence for her role as Alex Russo on the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-2012). Gomez also appeared in several films, including Another Cinderella Story (2008) and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2010). She also appeared in Ramona and Beezus (2010) and Spring Breakers (2012). She also voice actor on Mavis in Hotel Transylvania (2012-2022). Gomez is the executive producer for the Netflix television series 13 Reasons Why (2017-2020) and Living Undocumented (2019) through her production company, July Moon Productions. She also appears in the Hulu comedy show, the mystery Only Murders in the Building (21-21-222). Gomez received praise from critics about the series as well as nominations for a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award as producer. Gomez released three albums in her former band Selena Gomez & the Scene and the Scene. All three albums made it into the top 10 of the US Billboard 200 and were certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA): Kiss & Tell (2009), A Year Without Rain (2010) and Sun goes down (2011). Her debut solo album, Stars Dance (2013) is atop the U.S. Billboard 200 topped her debut solo album"Stars Dance" (2013). The album's album's lead single, "Come & Get It" made it to the top ten on the US Billboard Hot 100. Gomez has released Revival (2015) the second studio album. It debuted at number one in America and was certified platinum. Three top ten US entries were created from Revival: "Good for You" and the "Same Old Love" single, and "Hands to Myself". The third album of her studio, Rare (2020), made her the third consecutive album to reach number one in the US as well as its top track, "Lose You to Love Me" was her first number-one hit song across the US and Canada. The album was also released Revelacion in Spanish which brought her an Grammy Award nomination for Best Latin Pop Album. She has won many awards like the 2017 Billboard Woman of the year award. She also broke 15 Guinness World Records. Time magazine named her one of the top 100 influential people around the globe in 2020. Gomez is a social media celebrity and is the most-followed musician and actress on Instagram. Gomez also has ventures in fashion, handbags and fragrance.
