
Kelly Clarkson became the personification of the American Dream when she won the first episode of American Idol. The idea was that one could come anyplace and became a superstar and something that American viewers could cling to, and more importantly purchase. Her debut album was a massive success, then, after switching to another label and having more control over her style the second album went on to become one of the biggest-selling albums by "American Idol" alumni. Apart from touring regularly and recording numerous Top Ten singles, releasing two multi-Platinum albumsand appearing as a coach on numerous singing shows, and writing or co-writing most of her material In addition, she's won a respectable number of awards. She's received the following awards: four American Music Awards, twelve Billboard Music Awards, two Grammy Awards, and three MTV Video Music Awards. Her nominations and wins for major music awards total at 98 as of today.
