Allison Chinchar, a CNN as well as HLN meteorologist for CNN and HLN. She regularly appears on the CNN's New Day Weekend" and HLN's "Weekend Express', as as CNN International shows. Prior to joining CNN in June 2015 she worked as meteorologist for locale stations like Atlanta, Nashville, and Chattanooga, Tennessee. The meteorologist has covered wildfires, floods, hurricanes and even the occurrence of blizzards. In 2019, she was nominated to win an Emmy award for her reporting of the hurricane Dorian which was a hurricane in the Bahamas. Then she reported on her coverage of the Super Tornado Outbreak of April 2011. More than 350 tornadoes hit in the Southeastern United States in just four days, with over 200 on the 27th in a single day. Her background as an environmental scientist allowed her to cover stories on climate change and natural catastrophes like the eruption of volcanoes, earthquakes, and so on. Chinchar is a graduate of the Bachelors of Science in Atmospheric Science. She graduated from The Ohio State University. Chinchar is a part of a variety of organizations, including that of American Meteorological Society and Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
